Wilder Connections Officer

We’re on a mission to make Derbyshire wilder, and we need a Wilder Connections Officer to help achieve our vision.  

As a Wilder Connections Officer, you’ll lead the charge in developing and delivering an innovative engagement and consultation programme that supports species reintroduction. Your role will be crucial in fostering strong community connections and driving our Wilder2030 strategy forward. 

In this role, you’ll: 

  • Engage with communities, organising focus groups and large-scale events to assess support for species reintroduction. 

  • Consult stakeholders, collaborating with funders, landowners, and partners to co-develop outreach and consultation processes. 

  • Use data to provide meaningful insights and share them with diverse audiences.

  • Inspire others, building strong relationships through excellent communication and inspiring community involvement. 

  • Be agile and goal-driven, adapting pathways for long-term solutions and drive project success. 

  • Have a passion for nature's recovery, demonstrating a deep commitment to rewilding and nature-based solutions.

About you 

This role might be right for you if: 

 

  • You have a proven track record of working with communities and partners to foster positive, impactful relationships that drive meaningful change. 

  • You have knowledge of nature-based solutions for climate, wildlife, and advocate for natural process-led approaches to land management. 

  • You are a quick learner, able to confidently present and engage others in discussions about species and their interactions with our environment and landscapes. 

  • You have exceptional listening and communication skills, with a history of developing strong, trust-based relationships with a diverse range of people and groups. 

 

 

We are happy to talk flexible working!     

 

This role will be based at our office in Middleton although a balance of home and office working will be allowed. We are a local charity so applicants should be easily able to access our office and other locations around the county.
